If you haven’t already put up your Christmas tree, or want to see how to improve your tree, then check out our 5 top tips on how to decorate your Christmas Tree (like a pro).

Our 5 top tips can be applied to any tree and décor style you like. Regardless of the colour or style of your décor, our top tips will ensure you have a Christmas tree to brag about.

Tip 1: Let there be light.

You may be thinking, surely it’s just a case of putting lights around the tree, what tips would I need for that? Well this tip may surprise you. We recommend using an extension lead and wrapping it around the base of the tree. This way, you can start at the top of three rather than the bottom. Remember not to connect more than three strands of lights for safety reasons!

Tip 2: Fill up this Christmas.

And by fill up, we mean fill your Christmas tree with things you’d find in floral arrangements. Such as pine cones, berry stems and poinsettias. These add interest and character to your tree whilst filling any gaps you may have.

Tip 3: All tied up.

Ribbon is the perfect way to add some texture to your tree. There is more than one way to add ribbons to your tree. You can stream it down the tree starting from the top, you can wrap it around the tree and you can cut ribbon sections and scatter them across the tree. Why not try all three methods and see what one you like best.

Tip 4: Accessorise. Accessorise. Accessorise.

This is where you add your classic baubles, a star or angel at the top of your tree, maybe some little chocolates or photo frames. The key to this step is making you sure that you fill any empty spots whilst keeping the ornaments visually even throughout the tree. If you have any pets or babies you may want to skip adding ornaments to the bottom of the tree.

Tip 5: Dress for the occasion.

If you’re not sure where we are going with this, we are talking about a skirt for your Christmas tree. That’s right, a skirt. It’s like a pair of shoes, it can make or break the outfit. You will want to match your tree skirt to the rest of the tree. If you have gone with a simple look, then a simple skirt will do. However, if you have gone with a more elegant look then a more elegant skirt will be required.

And that’s a wrap! Our 5 top tips on how to decorate your Christmas tree this year. From all of us at The Craft Store, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
