Create a Scrapbook Spread with Cricut
Use your Cricut machine to create a beautiful, quilted style scrapbook spread. Use the scoring tool in your machine to create a textured page from a mix of papers. Add drawn elements to create your own toppers and embellishments.
You will need:
– Cricut Maker or Explore Air 2
-Scoring Stylus (or Scoring wheel for Maker)
-6 Pieces of 12″x12″ Cardstock in 6 different colours or patterns
-Tape Roller or Glue
Open up this project in Cricut Design Space: https://design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/60630c595681b50ff08b5618 ,if you want to edit any of the toppers do this now and resize them to fit the page.
Click ‘Make it’ and head to the next screen, choose your material setting then prepare you mat and material for cutting.
Place your cardstock onto the mat ensure it is well stuck down and load the mat into the machine. Cricut Design Space will prompt you to load the scoring stylus or the pen.
Start cutting. Repeat this process until all of the pieces are cut, scored and drawn.
Remove the cut pieces from the mat. Then fold along all of the scored lines on all of the circle pieces.
Next start gluing the pieces together to create a 12″x12″ square, 8×8 pieces. Add a small piece of glue to the sides of the pieces then stick to the side pieces that are adjacent. Mix up the different patterned and colour paper you have to create a patchwork quilt effect.
Choose a photo you would like to use as the centre piece of your spread and stick it onto the kraft coloured square.
Next add the drawn pieces around the photo. Then use foam pads to stick the photo piece down onto the quilted background. You may need to flatten the background pieces underneath the photo to help it stick down.
To finish glue to whole page onto a plain piece of 12×12 card or into your scrapbook.
