There’s a real treat for us all tomorrow night (7th October). Barbara will be launching a brand new One Day Special at 6pm – a beautiful collection of Clarity Stamps and Stencils. The detail in the stamps is super fine, giving a wonderfully crisp image, every time. For this simple project, I have used just one of the fabulous stamp designs, to give you a flavour of what you can look forward to. The One Day Special will continue at 8pm, followed by shows on Monday at 9am, 1pm and Final Call at 5pm. Please don’t miss these inspirational shows.
You will need:
  • Clarity ‘A Little Bird’ Stamp
  • Versafine Black Ink Pad
  • Watercolour Card
  • Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide
  • Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide
  • Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide
  • Black Card
  • Waterbrush
  • White Card Base
  • Tacky Glue
  • Tissue
Step 1: Start by creating 2 background pieces on watercolour card. Add the oxides to a large stamping block, then lightly spritz the card and your block. Place the block onto your card. You can get some really amazing effects and patterns using this technique, it makes the most amazing background for stamping. Once dry, stamp your design with black Versafine Ink.

Step 2: Use a ruler to mark your cutting line around the image. Then trim to size. Next, use a water brush and tissue to faux bleach, highlighting some the superb design.

Step 3: Cut black card mats for your image and the second layer.

Step 4: Secure these to the black card using Tacky Glue.

Step 5: Layer all of your pieces together, again using Tacky Glue. When you mount the pieces, don’t match up the colours. Use the 2nd layer upside down (see photo). To finish your project, mount onto a white card base.

Main Photo and finished card

Thank you for stopping by today. I do hope you enjoyed the tutorial along with the finished card. I wanted to give you a sneak peek of what you can look forward to tomorrow. It is, without a doubt, a Clarity launch that you don’t want to miss. We all know how popular the brand is, looking at the designs, it really isn’t hard to understand why. I do hope you will join me again soon. The next couple of months are going to be extremely exciting. For now take care and Happy Crafting. xx
  1. Beautiful card Nick. Love the colours of the background and the tip of turning the second piece upside down.
